GLOUCESTERSHIRE.
ALVESTON.
WEDDING.- A very pretty wedding took place at
the parish church on Wednesday morning, the con-
tracting [arties being Miss Lucy Evelyn Chambers,
youngest daughter of Mr. William Oliver Chambers,
of Alveston-house, Alveston, and Mr. Joseph
David, of St. Fagan's, Cardiff. A good congregation
assembled in the sacred edifice to witness the
happy event. The bride, who was given away by
her father, was attired in a cream crépes dress,
trimmed with cream surah silk and lace, and wore
a tulle veil, her bouquet being composed of choice
white blooms and maidenhair fern. She was
accompanied by three bridesmaids, the Misses
Clara and Fanny Marshall Chambers, sisters of the
bride, and Miss Margaret Georgina Chambers, cousin
of the bride, who wore heliotrope cashmere dresses,
trimmed with bengaline silk, their hats being of fancy
cream straw, with ostrich feathers, and heloptrope
ribbon to match: and each carried a beautiful
bouquet of white and coloured blooms. Mr.
Edward Silverton, of Warrington (brother-in-law of
the bride) acted as best man. The wedding break-
fast took place at the residence of the bride's father
and mother, where a large number of guests was
entertained. The presents were both numerous and
costly. Late in the day the happy pair left, amid
the hearty good wishes of their numerouos friends,
for Bristol, en route for Yorkshire, where they
intend to spend their honeymoon. The bride's
travelling dress was of deep salmon crépes, trimmed
with surah silk of a darker shade. Mendelssohn's
"Wedding March" and other suitable music was
well received by Mr. Walter Somerton, organist of
St. John's church, Clevedon, and brother-in-law of
the bride.
